Read a blog which was followed by some 300 comments. Don't know if the blogger had really intended such an overwhelming response or was this a cheap attempt to 'see through' the rift among much lauded Indian diversity. I too went over most of the comments (at the expense of my much dear sleep) and not to my surprise I found the comments more or less naive, as you would too if you go through those(maybe).
Can't imagine there's so much of 'serious' divide in the minds of people when it comes to accepting trivial differences in culture, language etc. The blogger's assumption(if i may call it so) that one group of people is smarter than the other should not be such a big thing to whine about. I respect diversity and differences. They help us evolve and learn from each other. They give new permutations to our genomic sequences and help us produce smarter kids. Let's not live in the world of silos. Let's not 'preserve' our goods for the filthy sake of rhetoric called culture. The true meaning of culture is in blending. After all, who doesn't like new colors ?
